Speaker: Malcolm Hey, author, underwater environment tour leader, BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society

The speaker for April is Michael Abston, PADI Instructor out of Underwater Adventures in Leesburg. Michael will be starting to teach SCUBA classes in The Villages. If you know someone who you think would be a good speaker for us, please let the board know and we will make every effort to get them to our meeting.

February 3rd 2010 Meeting Minutes
Tom Mitchell, President, opened the meeting, with 36 in attendance, especially welcoming visitors and introducing the officers. Tom, for the benefit of the visitors, explained the purpose and functions of the Club. Minutes from the last meeting were read by Ken Jordan, Secretary. Minutes were approved as read. Ken Loudermilk, Treasurer, reported the Clubs account balance to be $605.79. The complete Treasurers report is attached and was approved as read.

Recent Dives:
. Three members reported on their recent trips. One to Cozumel and Grand Cayman these dives being their FIRST, they had a great time! Another member also went to Cozumel, with the third going to Aruba and diving the wreck Antilla, her comment she wished she had taken her camera!

Tom then introduced our guest speaker Lt Caruthers, Sumter County Sherriffs Dive Search and Recovery Team. Lt Caruthers then gave an informative and entertaining overview of the services provided by his team.
Anyone planning a dive or having equipment for sale should forward the info to Ken Jordan (thevillagesscubaclub@gmail.com). The information will be posted on the Clubs website http://users.thevillages.net/johkoe/scubaclub.htm and e-mailed to the members.
