Operation
Membership: There is a one time fee of $5.00 to join the Foreign Film Club. However, you do not have to be a member to enjoy the films. These are the benefits for members:
Invitation to "Members Only" events
Preference for admission to Special Events where seating is limited
Voting privileges when a significant club change is considered
Invitation to participate as a film introducer or discussion leader
Eligibility to serve as a group coordinator or as a board member
Suggested voluntary donation of $1.00 (rather than $3.00 for non-members)
Opportunity to borrow films from our new DVD library
Personal pride of contributing to the support of the art of films and the camaraderie that results from enjoying a common interest.
Donations: Admission to the film showing is by voluntary donation. Persons choosing not to contribute will be admitted. Donations go to pay for major expenses such as the projector, DVD player, and copy machine and for ongoing expenses such as refreshments, copying paper, ink, films and other miscellaneous items.
At present the suggested donation for members is $1.00 and for non-members is $3.00. All monies received are expended to benefit the audience of the Foreign Film Club.
Financial: Because our primary interest is in watching films, we do not read minutes or present a financial report at our meetings. However, the financial records are updated after each film weekend and are available at every meeting .You are encouraged to view them. Please see Robert Wohl on Saturdays and Anita Weber (or her stead) on Sundays. A yearly Financial Report is presented to the club in January.
Board of Directors: The Foreign Film Club is run by a Board of Directors that is comprised of the people who are responsible for the various functions of the club, such as Refreshments/Hospitality, Discussion Leaders, Financial, etc. The Board of Directors does not meet monthly, but rather, on an “as needed” basis. If you are a club member and would like a list of board members, please ask at the front desk. If you wish to speak to a board member, most are available on Saturday after the film.
